Affirmations
A strong positive attitude will create more miracles than any wonder drug.
–Patricia Neal

An affirmation is a thought of a desired condition or thing. Constant repetition of an affirmation will lead to acceptance by the mind. Affirmations help us establish the beliefs we want.
When you have an immediate need to achieve something or to make a change in behavior, to start a new habit, you can make your own affirmation. Write in simple words exactly what you want.
The following guidelines are important:
1. Your affirmation must be personal. You can only affirm for yourself and not for somebody else.
2. Your statement must be positive, not negative. For example, if you want to reduce your weight from 150 pounds to 130 pounds, you do not say, “I’m going to lose 20 pounds”. On a positive note, “I will weight 130 pounds in 6 months.”
3. Write an affirmation in present tense as your subconscious mind operates only in the present. Do not use words like “someday”, “soon”, or “tomorrow”.
4. Use action words such as “I love to…”, “I enjoy…”, etc.
5. You must be specific. “I want to be rich” is too vague. To be specific state, “I want to earn $120k this year.”
6. It must be believable to you.
7. Read the affirmation each morning after rising and each evening before going to sleep.
8. Write the affirmation(s) by hand at least 10 times. This helps to program them more firmly into your subconscious mind.
9. Paste the affirmation on your mirror, telephone, etc., so you can see it throughout the day.
10. Continue the affirmation until you have achieved it.
Your subconscious mind is like a computer. It does not think. Its primary purpose is to follow orders given by your conscious mind. It is not capable of making judgments, good or bad. If you program it for success, you will be successful. If you program it for failure, you will fail. To achieve success, you need to release negative inputs and replace them with positive ones. If you are unhappy with any part of your life and you want to change it, it’s necessary to:
1. Identify the negative thought that created your unhappiness.
2. Release these negative thoughts.
3. Replace them with positive thoughts that can bring what you want.
4. Repeat these positive thoughts in the form of affirmations frequently until you achieve your goal.
It’s important to realize that the things to enjoy are the things that are in front of us and within us, and the time to enjoy them is right now!!!!!
Affirmations are a way to appreciate ourselves. They help us focus on what we want and who we want to be.
Examples of affirmations:
• I learn something from each mistake.
• I create positive habits all the time.
• The rules for success won’t work unless I take action.
• I think, act, and feel like the winner I am.
• My positive thinking dissolves all problems.
• I am the most positive and enthusiastic person I know.
• I can change my life by controlling my thoughts.
• My environment is a mirror of my attitude.
