What is Health to You?

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

What is health?  Is it measured by absence of pain?  Is it determined by how much energy you have during the day?  Are you a ‘healthy’ person if you eat well and exercise?  Are you a person of ‘health’ if you suffer with headaches, but don’t let them ‘drag you down’?

Health is a state of wellbeing with the absence of disease.

Have you thought about what happens when health is not present?  Just like darkness is an absence of light, disease is an absence of health.  The only way to create and allow health is to have purity and sufficiency.  Disease is when toxicity and deficiency are prevalent.  To be in a state of disease does not mean you need a diagnosis.  How many times have you heard that someone you knew just passed away from a heart attack and that ‘he/she was healthy as a horse’?

YOU and only YOU can make the decision to improve your health.  Every choice you make leads you towards health or towards disease.  WHICH DIRECTION ARE YOU MOVING?

Are you ready to take a step towards living a life of health?  Without health, we have nothing.  Email me at info@htchiro.com to learn more about how we can assist you in your health goals.

“Posturing” – Do You Know That How You Carry Yourself Defines Your Life?

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Have you ever analyzed how a person carries him or herself?  Have you ever walked behind someone in the grocery store who has poor posture?  Do they look happy?  Is their life fulfilled?  Do they stand upright with their shoulders back and chest open or do they bend forward at the waist with shoulders rolled forward?  Do they hold their head horizontal to the ground or do they look down at the ground?  Do they smile?  Do they make eye contact?  Do they walk briskly or slowly, shuffling their feet?

Which person are you?  Which person do you want to be?  Have you surrounded yourself with people who can get you there?

Key Conversations That Facilitate Shift

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

This post reminds me of a conversation I recently had with a long term practice member. He is in his mid 50’s and thinking about what he wants to do next. After his last adjustment, I asked him what his purpose is. He said, “Well, to pay my bills – house, car, electricity – so that others can have a job.” Wow, this man has a heart of gold – to be thankful for his bills so that others can work. Do you feel that way about your bills? I rephrased the question, “Why do you do what you do in your life?” He stood motionless, blank and said, “I need to think more about that.” This practice member is stuck in his comfort zone, like all of us can be, he is not fulfilled. Right now he works to make money, to be secure, to go on vacations, to be free…not because his purpose is driving him.

  • Do you feel fulfilled in your professional life?
  • If not, what are you willing to change?
  • Do you feel fulfilled in your personal life?
  • If not, who do you need to BE in order to create happiness? What kind of person do you feel would have a fabulous personal life?

You can do this in many different areas – spiritual, financial, family, social, emotional, etc. Good luck!

How to Create Your Purpose Statement from a Chriopractor in West Fargo, ND

Monday, February 1st, 2010

A great purpose statement is one that inspires you so that you can affect countless others.  It will open a path to love and happiness.  It will bring joy into your days, weeks, months and years.  It is a necessary component to creating your best life.

  •  Define your values.   What do you want to live for?  (God, Love, Happiness, Wealth, Service, Family, Freedom)
  • Define your endeavors.  What’s your plan?  What’s your priority?
  • Who can you help by creating and living by this purpose?  Whose lives will be improved?

Other questions that may help you in getting to the answer:

  •  What have been your greatest moments of happiness or fulfillment?
  • What activities are of most worth in your personal and professional life?
  • What talents and capabilities do you have or want to have?
  • What core values make up your belief system?

Review what you’ve written.  If what you’ve written makes you cry, you are on the right track.  If not, KEEP GOING!!!!!!

“You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be.”  ~David Viscott

What is Your Purpose?

Monday, February 1st, 2010

What is your purpose in life?  WHY do you do what you do everyday in your life?  Why do you wake up every morning?  What legacy are you going to leave?  Keep reading for steps to follow to create your purpose.

My purpose is to Transform Lives – to witness miracles, give hope and instill power. I fulfill this purpose by being a wife, mommy to our children, chiropractor, manager, speaker, mentor, friend, daughter, sister, etc.  Each day I wake up thankful and grateful for the strengths and gifts I have been given.

Your purpose describes your goals, priorities and your values.  Your statement of purpose should be a representation of what’s most important to you, what you desire to focus on, what you want to achieve, and ultimately, who you want to become.
